Position1. Postdoctoral researcher 1. Postdoctoral researcher Description A postdoctoral position is available immediately to develop novel algorithms to analyze and visualize complex mass spectrometry-based proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics data with the goal to contribute to nutrigenomics research. The successful candidate will work closely with experimentalists from academia and industry at the North Carolina Research Campus (NCRC) (www.ncresearchcampus.net) and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). The Department of Bioinformatics & Genomics at UNCC is engaged in a multi-year expansion program encompassing two major sites. In addition to a $35M state-of-the art bioinformatics building under construction on the University’s main campus, the Department has the leadership role in bioinformatics for NCRC at Kannapolis. The NCRC is a $1.5B, 350-acre biotechnology research park that will be home to the research programs of seven North Carolina research universities and several health care organizations, as well as a large number of private biotechnology companies. Requirements Ph.D. in applied mathematics, statistics, computer science, or related field and a solid computer programming skills and quantitative data analysis capabilities. Preference will be given to those who have had experience with mass spectrometry data analysis. 2.
