John Nicol Before leaving to the lab for a new job in industry, John Nicol led the Integrated Genome Browser project. John's contributions to IGB are too numerous to name. Some of these include several new release of IGB and setting up software development best practises and other systems we continue to follow and build upon. He holds master's degrees in mathematics and computer science and has worked as a professional software engineer at Microsoft and at startup companies in Boston, Charlotte and the Bay Area. |

Roshonda Barner Roshonda joined the lab in the summer of 2008 and returned every summer since then. During her three summers with us, Roshonda contributed to several projects, including an analysis of co-expression patterns in flowering-related genes in Arabidopsis (2008), developing data sets for the Integrated Genome Browser data server (2009), and helping with analysis of RNA-Seq data sets from pollen (2010). At NC A&T, Roshonda studies economics and mathematics. |

Ketan Patel, Ph.D. Dr. Ketan Patel joined the lab in October 2008 and left in August 2010 for a new position as a senior research scientist working for the U.S. Navy. During his enormously productive tenure, Ketan set up the "wet" lab, taught us all how to work with Arabidopsis thaliana, developed protocols for RNA-Seq, generated several large RNA-Seq data sets from blueberry and Arabidopsis, and led the blueberry transcriptome sequencing project. Ketan played a key role in all projects in the lab and co-authored Prevalence of alternative splicing choices in Arabidopsis, which appeared in BMC Plant Biology in June, 2010. |

Adam English Adam English joined the lab December of 2008 and left after graduating with a master's degree in May, 2010. Starting the spring semester of 2009, he also served as a T.A. for Bioinformatics Programming I and II for three semesters. Adam developed the ArabiTag Web site and co-authored Prevalence of alternative splicing choices in Arabidopsis, which appeared in BMC Plant Biology in June, 2010. Adam now works as a Bioinformatics Analyst II at the Human Genome Sequence Center at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston. |

Archana Raja Archana Raja joined the lab as a student intern during the summer of 2008. Before graduating the following May, she developed testing code for the Integrated Genome Browser, updated and maintained the IGB User's Guide, and analyzed genomic data sets from Arabidopsis. Archana co-authored The Integrated Genome Browser: Free software for distribution and exploration of genome-scale data sets, which appeared in the journal Bioinformatics in 2009. |

Ehsan Tabari Ehsan wrote the first version of the blueberry ESTs database during his summer 2008 rotation. He also contributed to the Integrated Genome Browser Project; he added the data set hyperlinks in the Data Access Panel. Ehsan now does research with Shannon Schlueter in the Bioinformatics and Genomics Department at UNC Charlotte. |
